Honda Formula 4-Stroke Powerboat race at Liverpool
Honda Formula 4- Stroke powerboat racing is certainly not a sport for the faint hearted. Travelling at speeds of up to 70mph, these marine machines hardly come into contact with the water - most of the boat is usually airborne!
The largest off-shore powerboat series in the UK arrives in Liverpool in August for the penultimate round in a five-race season. Relying solely on the skill of the driver and the navigator, racers will roar up the Mersey from the new Arena to the entrance of the Canning Dock Gates.
Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral
The Cathedral is normally open from 8.00am to 6.00pm, but closed at 5.00pm on Sundays in winter. There is no charge for admission but a contribution to the upkeep of the building would be appreciated. Guides are usually on duty to show you round and explain the mission of the Cathedral. Photography is permitted in the Cathedral except during Services. There is an underground car park which is open to all visitors from 8.00am – 6.00pm daily. There are also spaces for disabled drivers which are all clearly marked.
